Monthly Meeting
- Location: Billings, MT
The Billings Gem and Mineral Club is a non-profit organization devoted to the enjoyment of mineralogy, geology, paleontology and lapidary arts with specific attention to the Montana, Wyoming, and Dakotas region.
We meet on the 1st Thursday of every month in Billings, MT with the exception of July and August. Guests are always welcome. Meetings include a raffle, educational presentation, and we discuss field trips and other club business. Some members come early to socialize and share finds & information about hunting and collecting.
Feel free to come to a few club meetings before joining so you have time to decide if this club is for you. Membership dues are paid annually: $15 for an individual; $20 for a family or couple. Dues support our annual show and other club activities.
The Billings Gem and Mineral Club is affiliated with the Montana Council of Rock & Mineral Clubs, the Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies (NFMS), and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS). All members at all levels of these societies are governed by a code of ethics that include 17 governing rules listed below. Compliance is becoming increasingly more difficult with additional laws and additional philosophies of enforcement. It is important that each member take responsibility for compliance with laws and regulations concerning mineral, fossil and artifact collecting and for his/her own individual actions.
